Description
While the anemone derives much of its nutrition from light, supplemental feedings of meaty foods such as shrimp, fish, or specialized anemone food can promote growth and health. Feed once or twice a week.
- Lighting: Strong, quality lighting is essential, as anemones rely on photosynthesis for much of their energy, thanks to the symbiotic zooxanthellae algae within their tissues.
- Water Flow: Moderate water flow is ideal. Too much flow can cause the anemone to retract its tentacles, while too little can result in detritus accumulation around its base.
- Water Parameters:
- Temperature: 75-82°F (24-28°C)
- Salinity: 1.024-1.026 SG
- pH: 8.1-8.4
- Nitrate: Less than 10 ppm
- Phosphate: Less than 0.03 ppm
